U-16 Blog Day 1 and 2 first Game and First Win!!!

We’re alive, here in Iceland. Our flight from Seattle to Reykjavik was longer than expected but it was smooth sailing. When we first arrived, it was really windy and we were all freezing. But we found out that its not usually so cold. We have a personal bus that drives us wherever we need to go, and the driver is our next door neighbour. Our driver took us from the airport to where we are staying. We got into our rooms super early in the morning and slept for about two hours but everyone says it felt like a good night’s rest. When we played the only game we had today, we won by 3 points, with the final score of 17-14. We were all a little nervous going into the game, because it was our first game here in Iceland and because we haven’t played games as a team since Denmark. As we got more into the game we were more comfortable and had some very nice plays going on. No one was short playtime, By the end we were playing a lot better and everyone was more relaxed. Overall, the game went well. We went grocery shopping and just recently got back to the house. We’re all here now relaxing and having tacos for supper. Amen! Love, Ricki, Emily and Dani (The Mayerthorpe U16 girls)
